Tung joined the group as a postdoc in October to work on quantum spacetime and gravity in matrix models at a loop

Tung will work with Harold Steinacker on an FWF funded research project to study and elaborate the emergent matrix models in detail and compare them with general relativity.

After completing his dissertation entitled "Higher Spin Gravity: Quantization and Algebraic Structures" at the LMU in Munich, Tung worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Mons, Belgium.
