Thorsten Schimannek, who recently got his PhD from Bonn, has joined the group as a posdoc. David Erkinger will carry out his Ph.D. project in our group. Their research is funded by the FWF project "Exotic Calabi-Yaus from Supersymmetric Gauge Theory". Calabi-Yau spaces appear as extra dimensions in string theory. The project explores new field theoretic methods to study the rich mathematical structure of Calabi-Yaus.
We are glad to have Thorsten and David in our research group and are looking forward to illuminating discussions and a constructive collaboration.
