Arnav Das visits our group

03.09.2024

Arnav is a student of mathematical physics at Caltech and will be working together with Nils Carqueville and Ödul Tetik until the end of September.

A promising new research initiative has been launched in Vienna, focusing on the study of tangential structures on manifolds with defects and stratifications. This project, led by Nils Carqueville, aims to develop methods for classifying spin defect topological quantum field theories (TQFTs).

Arnav is student in the Mathematical Physics department at Caltech, specializing in noncommutative geometry (particularly C*-algebras) and Topological Quantum Field Theories (TQFTs). His broader academic interests extend to higher mathematical structures in topology, such as ∞-categories and topoi, and he has previously explored areas like condensed matter theory and planetary physics.

We are excited to have Arnav in the group and wish him a productive and inspiring stay in Vienna!
