After completing his Master’s Degree at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, which was on the topic of factorization algebras and factorization homology on stratified spaces, Aleksandar has joined the Mathematical Physics group at the University of Vienna. He plans to work together with Nils Carqueville on topological quantum field theories and the orbifold construction.
The FWF project “Higher defect state sum models” aims at developing a functorial description of topological state sum models, using tools from theoretical physics, category theory, and algebraic topology. The goal is to create a general theory that reduces higher-dimensional phenomena to lower dimensions and applies it to explore new relationships in topological quantum field theories, higher algebra representation theory, and 3D theory anomalies.
